A Ripple Autumn 2023 article
Clara Anna Fontein, situated at the foothills of Durbanville and with panoramic views that will take your breath away, sure is a “lekker” place to be!
With the last two houses for sale and construction drawing to a close, this estate is already home to over 190 residents, who are revelling in a superb retirement lifestyle.
“Many of our recent sales originated from referrals from residents,” says Mariska Auret, Director at Rabie responsible for the development. “It’s encouraging that our residents are enjoying their retirement at Clara Anna Fontein so much, that they would happily encourage their friends to share this lifestyle with them.”
With each estate unique for its area and market, Oasis Life’s golden thread of a hospitality-based lifestyle is what sets it apart. Every development has a Lifestyle Centre, or in Clara Anna Fontein’s case a Clubhouse, in its first phase, which means that residents can enjoy a sense of community and the warm hospitality from day one. This lifestyle offering also includes 24/7 primary healthcare with the consulting rooms located in the same building.
Additionally, the greater estate’s gym, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts are all available to Oasis Life’s residents.[ Neil Barry, Operations Manager for Oasis Life explains that the Clubhouse has something for everyone. “In addition to our deli that is available to residents for breakfast, lunch, and special event evenings such as a live band or happy hour, we also host a variety of activities throughout the week. These include movement classes, various painting and crafting classes, wine tasting and so much more. A firm favourite is our Sunday carvery lunch that is held once a month.”
Special events are held on commemorative occasions such as Mother’s Days and Father’s Days, with Clara Anna Fontein hosting its third Wellness and Fun Day on 22 April.
“Our first Wellness and Fun Day in May 2022 was very successful, and we have decided to host two a year,” says Barry. “Residents can take part in fun walks and runs, sell or purchase food and crafts, speak to healthcare professionals and just enjoy a fun day with their families, friends and Oasis Life community.”
“Yes, it’s about the facilities, the safety and the comfortable houses, but it’s also about the new relationships that are formed around a social, cup of coffee or a crafts morning.” continues Barry. “We are often told by our residents that they have never been happier or had as many friends. Our staff are passionate about the welfare of our residents and there is no greater reward than to see our community thrive.”
