Meet Neil Barry, Operations Manager at Oasis Life Clara Fontein, who started with a good foundation by completing tertiary studies in Hospitality and Catering Management.
Hailing from the beautiful Garden Route in the Western Cape, Neil started his working career at Pezula Resort and Hotel, after which he moved to Cape Town’s One & Only hotel. He spent five years at the Cape Town Convention Centre, whereafter he joined the Century City Conference Centre – first as Banqueting Manager for a year and a half and then the Operations Manager for three years.
“Respect and integrity are core values that I hold dearly, while pride in one’s self and professionalism are essential to my being.” Says Neil “I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting people from all over the globe. Guests from different backgrounds and unique circumstances – each with their own experiences, ideas and fascinating stories to tell.”[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][blockquote text=”Respect and integrity are core values that I hold dearly, while pride in one’s self and professionalism are essential to my being.” show_quote_icon=”yes”][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” background_animation=”none” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]In his spare time, Neil treasures time with his wife, family and pets – usually around a cosy fire or out and about in nature. He is very passionate about sport, whether its cheering the Stormers to victory or trying to improve on his golf handicap. He is also an aspirational Masterchef with a keen ambition for perfecting his cooking skills.
“I am looking forward to the next direction in my career, which is the management of Oasis Life Clara Anna Fontein. I value the importance of building relationships and I look forward to becoming acquainted with each resident. It’s vital that while we create a safe harbour for our residents, we also ensure that everything we do is executed with the utmost care, empathy and kindness. Oasis Life holds the promise of a hospitality-based lifestyle and I look forward to leading the team at Clara Anna Fontein in delivering on excellence.”
Neil will be managing, inter alia, the beautiful Clubhouse when it opens at the end of the year. A major melting pot of the Clubhouse will be the restaurant, where residents can enjoy delicious meals, have coffee dates, and end the day with a cheese platter to share on the patio. Neil and his team will be responsible for every element – creating a warm and welcoming environment, initiating community events, and ensuring that the Oasis Life retirement lifestyle is as full-bodied and luxuriant as an excellent quality wine.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” background_animation=”none” css_animation=””][vc_column][blockquote text=”Neil and his team will be responsible for every element – creating a warm and welcoming environment, initiating community events, and ensuring that the Oasis Life retirement lifestyle is as full-bodied and luxuriant as an excellent quality wine.” show_quote_icon=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” background_animation=”none” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4410″ img_size=”large” style=”vc_box_shadow_3d” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]
