The clubhouse will be incredible, conveniently located so you can enjoy social activities before returning home to privacy and excellent security. What’s your take on Life Rights?
“Many people mention that with Life Rights, there’s no capital growth, but for most moving to a place like Oasis Life, it’s about reaching a stage in life where you’ve already provided for your family and can now focus on enjoying your own life. There are many more advantages when considering the lifestyle you want. I’m turning 80 and still maintain a healthy lifestyle, exercising and walking daily. I believe everyone moving to Oasis Life Constantia has so much to look forward to. Oasis Life is setting a new standard, and I see this as a positive change and an exciting new chapter.”

What excites you the most about your move to Oasis Life Constantia?
“We know the Salkinders and have a close mutual friend also joining the Oasis Life Constantia community. After much thought, we’ve decided it’s wise to move here too, especially since we have a son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren nearby, as well as a daughter overseas. We’re in our mid-70s now, and even though we don’t feel it, the reality is that we are. My mother lived into her 90s, so we believe that having company and companionship with like-minded people at this stage of life is essential.”

What’s your take on Life Rights?
“What we’ll gain in terms of lifestyle and community makes it absolutely worth it. We don’t want to burden our children or leave them with any hassles—we’re still capable and want to be treated as such. That’s important to us. Mostly, it’s the camaraderie and the entertainment we look forward to—we think that’s vital. Geoff rides a Harley, and I jump on the back. Age is an attitude.”

What excites you the most about your move to Oasis Life Constantia?
“The beautiful finishes and spacious layout are so well thought out, and everything feels perfectly appointed. The flow of the house is lovely. We’re moving from Johannesburg to Cape Town to be closer to our daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren. My younger son is in Oxford. When I saw House 1, I thought it was absolutely magnificent. I love that the houses aren’t crowded together; everything feels open and roomy, with generously sized rooms. Our five-bedroom house in Johannesburg has become too expensive to maintain and is just too large for us now. My husband is partially sighted, and our daughter is in a wheelchair, so we needed a spacious retirement home with wider passages. The levered taps are a thoughtful touch, and Oasis Life has been incredibly accommodating, even installing grab rails where needed. The service has been outstanding, making us feel that nothing was too much trouble. Our sales agent, Faith, was extremely helpful, and Arthur ensured all our needs were met. We’ve been so impressed with the level of care and service.”
What’s your take on Life Rights?
“The security is impressive, and the grounds are spacious. The clubhouse looks great and is wheelchair accessible. When I saw the house, I noticed the high ceilings and wondered about changing the lightbulbs. I was reassured that all such tasks are taken care of for you. It’s wonderful not to have to worry about these things anymore. We’re looking forward to having maintenance handled for us. The attention to detail is remarkable, and it feels like Oasis Life is committed to making our lives as comfortable as possible. They even offered to add double glazing to the windows facing Kendall Road to reduce noise, which I think is unnecessary, but it’s a thoughtful touch.”
